A WORLD CLASS FREIGHT SUPPLY CHAIN
GreenLink Australia Pty Ltd is the proponent of a new 700km freight rail line that will link the Port of Gladstone to Inland Rail at North Star, NSW, just south of Goondiwindi and from there to the rest of Australia. It will create Australia’s first world class freight supply chain, moving containers directly between the world’s largest and most efficient container vessels and locations throughout Australia’s eastern states by high speed, high volume rail through central Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, and to the west via the main transcontinental line.

Director and Chairman

The recipient of the Order of Australia twice, 1993-AM and 2021-AO has been recognised for his services to the Transport Industry receiving the Centenary Medal in 2001 from the Prime Minister. His extensive career of nearly 70 years has realised several leading roles.
Two roles of direct relevance to this Proposal are:
- Founder and Father of the Inland Railway
- Former Chair of Surat Basin Railway Ltd
In addition, significant roles in working with and for Government through:
- Founding Chair, Advisory Panel on Positive Aging within the Commonwealth Treasury
- Adjunct Professor, University of Queensland
- Honorary Senior Fellow, University of the Sunshine Coast
- Founder, National Seniors Australia
- Founder, Compton Gardens Retirement Community
Everald is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) and has been a Member of both Institutes for 65 years.
Grant Flekser
Managing Director

Grant is an experienced pre-construction and construction phase delivery professional in the railway, port and water industries. He is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years’ management experience who has successfully led large, multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of feasibility studies, construction procurement and transaction strategy development and managed the delivery of a number of linear infrastructure projects on behalf of Government and the private sectors.
Roles of direct relevance to this Proposal are:
- Project Director of the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline project – Grant leads the pre-construction and construction phases of this $950M pipeline and water treatment plant project in Rockhampton / Gladstone, Queensland
- Project Manager of the Olive Downs Balloon Loop project – Grant was the Principal’s Representative on this $100M private rail balloon loop and spur in Moranbah, Queensland.
- Project Manager of Surat Basin Railway – as Xstrata Coal’s representative on the project, reporting to the CEO, Grant led the multidisciplinary team to complete the study phases of this $2Bn project
- Shareholding customer representative – WICET – Grant represented the eight shareholding customers in the development of this $3.2Bn coal export terminal and in their negotiations for rail network access agreements with Aurizon Network.
Lance Hockridge

Lance Hockridge is an executive leader with extensive global experience in the transportation, manufacturing and heavy industrial sectors. He is a well-recognised thought-leader on international trade, diversity and transformative business strategy.
At BHP Lance led the Company’s global transportation activities, including shipping, rail and road activities. He also spent many years in the BHP Steel business in Australia, NZ and North America/Middle East. Lance retired as CEO of Aurizon Holdings Ltd in November 2016, having led the previously state-owned Queensland Rail freight business through a successful IPO in November 2010.
Lance is Chairman of AVADA Group Limited; a Non-Executive Director of Kelsian Ltd; and a Non-Executive Director of Saudi Arabia Railways; together with other private company interests. He has had extensive not-for-profit interests, including Chairman of The Salvation Army’s Queensland Advisory Group; together with diversity and domestic violence interests. He was recognised for his work in diversity as the only Australian CEO to be awarded a UN CEO Empowerment Award in March 2016.
Tim Crommelin

Tim’s experience includes stockbroking, investment banking, corporate advisory, equity capital markets, property investment and development for more than 50 years.
Tim joined Morgan Stockbroking in 1986 and was Managing Director of the group from 1990 to 2003 and Executive Chairman from 2003 to 2023.
